For example: We have an area 50' x 100' and we want to cover with a 3" (.25') layer of barkdust thick, so- 50' x 100' x .25'=1250 cubic ft. Divide by 27 = 46.29 cubic yards. So we'll need about 46 cubic yards of bark dust.
